Tara Jenkins

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Dr. Tara Jenkins is a native of Jackson, TN. She is a 1997 graduate of Clark-Atlanta University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. She is a 1999 graduate of Moody Bible Institute with a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies. She graduated with her Doctorate of Education in Leadership from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in December 2005. Her dissertation topic was "Exploring the Essential Factors for Equipping Pastors' Wives for Ministry." She has been married for eight years to Pastor Charles Jenkins, pastor of the historic Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago, which was founded by the legendary Dr. Clay Evans. As the First Lady of Fellowship, Tara provides leadership to the Daughters of Royalty Women's Ministry, the Movements of Praise Dance Ministry, and the Ministry Mates Sunday School Class.

She is the proud mother of two daughters, Princess Alexandria who is three years old and one year old Paris Victoria .

In 2004, she was honored to receive the Unsung Heroine Award from the Cook County Commission for Women's Issues.

She lives by the statement,
"Strive to be at the top, because the bottom is overcrowded!"
